Whew! So glad that Wednesday is over. My friend Stephanie called my mom and said that Children's Place is having a HUGE sale! Everything is 3.99 or LESS! Children's place is in Williamsburg or the Mall in Norfolk. We wanted to see a few other stores in Williamsburg so we packed up the kids from school and drove to Williamsburg.
We SERIOUSLY hit the jackpot! I got over 30 pieces of clothing including a HEAVY jacket for my son next year at the low price of.... $129.00! THAT is all!
Then I hit Kirklands Home Store and got a few things that were needed for my kitchen. My goodness! I only spent 68.00 and decorated the kitchen! Not bad!
A little tip: Find a coupon here: Children's Place 15% off and then go! I saved $60.00 using the coupon!
Enjoy your Thursday! Stay inside, it's COLD!

Fisher Price Matchin' Middles
Today is a holiday for our school system. Which means no school for our children. Mine are in Pre-K4 and Pre-K2, so it really doesn't matter. But I didn't want them to miss out on a day of learning!
I grabbed a workbook for Aryan (purchased at DollarTree) and brought out a new game for Rheanna called Matchin' Middles by Fisher Price.
I purchased this game during the Christmas season as Aryan had played this with a counselor during a session. I knew it'd be a HUGE hit! And for 9.00 it teaches shapes, memory & Fine motor skills! Perfect for a two year old that has a brain that's a sponge right now.
When Aryan was playing with it in sessions, the counselor stated that she had purchased a LONG time ago, so she wasn't sure if they were available anymore. I was bummed, as the children seemed to really like that game. Great game for LISTENING too! So you could imagine my surprise and excitement when I found the game at Target . I quickly put it in my buggy and ran for the nearest checkout line! :)

If you have a toddler at home or are needing some beginning preschool games in the house, this is the PERFECT game/learning tool!

Mind the Rules!!! 20 Items or LESS!!
Okay so heading to walmart early this morning to purchase a small item needed in our house.
I have 5 items and go to the Speedy Checkout lane stating it's "20 items or less". Great!! It's a short line....
BUT WAIT!!! 20 of the same item apparently counts as ONE (1) item? Since When? It was the mentality of THIS lady and her daughter. Who obviously was checking her total every minute to see if she'd have enough money for sweets in the house....
Nothing wrong with watching what you spend, but what IS wrong is that you're in a 20 items or LESS lane and you're causing me to have to wait EXTRA time because you can't COUNT! What are you teaching your daughter? For-go all rules and do what the hell you want? Oh that seems to be the mentality of some of the individuals in this town.
Another Experience:
If their checkout light is off...but people are in the line...Go join them! And I don't EVER see the cashier saying anything to a certain race. It's like they're afraid of their own kind. (This happened at Target)
I was in a line that was LONG because I was mindful of the Cashier and her light turned off because she was due to go on break or even go home. But not ONCE did the cashier say anything to the certain race. But as soon as the opposite race came in the line, she was SUDDENLY closed? Interesting!
This made me upset, but I stood in my line patiently and fumed.
The CHECKOUT lights mean something people!
So to end this little fuming session...be mindful of others:
Obey the 20 items or less lines
20 pieces of the same item DOES NOT mean it counts as ONE!
If the check out light is OFF, that means s/he is CLOSED
If light is off, and Cashier is there, ASK if s/he's open.

Scooters!!!
This is a dislike blog...
I'm so tired of these scooters being on the road. They don't have licenses and they don't go more than 35 mph. They're worse than motorcycles as they don't require a helmet either. They slow down traffic and are just annoying. People can BARELY see them!
Why are these allowed on the roads? Don't they realize they are a danger to everyone...including themselves?
Ugh!
I understand it's a cheap way to travel around town, but gas isn't expensive anymore. It's below $2.00 a gallon!!!!

Finally OVER!!!
The hustle & bustle of the holidays are OVER! I'm so damn happy too! I love the season when everyone is so nice and willing to help those who are needy, but the race to see/purchase the most hippest items or the most wanted toys for their little ones just disgusts me! Then you have to figure out what the person on your list wants/needs. You only have so many ideas and you share those with family and then you have NO more ideas! How do you purchase something for someone who has everything? That's the hard part!
Next is the people who you DO send something for... and then they don't even CALL you to tell you they got the gift. You learn through someone else they did. What hurts is that you want to be thanked for your thoughtfulness. Okay so I like to give, but I also liked to be thanked. Nothing is wrong with that! I give, not to receive...but to be thanked is nice :)
Overall, I would say this is the best Christmas our family has had. Both children are/were into opening gifts... Okay so Rheanna was more into playing with what her brother opened, but at least she enjoyed some part of Christmas! The play kitchen & shopping cart are HUGE hits here! Rheanna is just now getting into dolls and imaginary play (more advanced than boys I guess) than Aryan was at this age. Aryan loved the Fisher-Price GeoAir High Flyin' Airport . I was not wanting to get that for him as he has so many tracks and trains already, but it seemed to work solo. He doesn't know it has expansions to it.
Our Christmas between hubby and I was fantastic! I really enjoyed the gifts I got this year. I guess it's because I gave him an extensive list! He didn't have to think much. I even got something that was totally surprising to me! An Ipod Nano in PINK! Strangely though, it already has Hindi songs on it! Haha! I love it though! He did very well!
Our Christmas tree is coming down TOMORROW! I'm tired of having to fix ornaments. We've got about 4 to glue back together thanks to Rheanna's little fingers all over the tree. The ornaments have slowly migrated up to the top or to the back. Glad I didn't put all the ornaments up this year! Rheanna is a fast little girl, it's hard to keep up with her and her mischievous ways! We know when she's quiet she's into something. Usually the tree or the tissues!
You know, It's REALLY bothering me that this family friend of ours... who saw me born and I adore as an aunt and a very close friend to our entire family... hasn't called us to tell us thank you, or that they've received the gift. I'm at a loss as to what to do too. If I had my way, I'd probably NEVER send gifts again. This isn't the first time though. I'd send gifts to the kids that she has and I never hear from them. Teach your children to be grateful for what they have. ~ Which reminds me, I need to have Aryan call everyone and thank them! ~ Okay, I had to get that off my chest. Maybe now I can go to sleep without thinking about this situation.
Okay, I have a 3 year-old who is up way past his bedtime and I need to get him to bed. Off to read a book!
~ Brandi ~
